IT Support for Accounting, Bookkeeping and Tax Offices in Los Angeles

Managed IT, server and network support for accounting, bookkeeping and tax offices with 3 to 50 computers across the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles. We already support an accounting and bookkeeping practice, and we plan around the deadlines your calendar runs on.

Accounting & Tax

What accounting offices need from IT that others do not

  • Uptime during tax season, when downtime cannot simply be rescheduled
  • QuickBooks and ProSeries on a network that does not drop them mid-entry
  • Multi-factor authentication on email, remote access and your financial software
  • Encrypted laptops and encrypted backups, not just a copy on a spare drive
  • A written security plan — the IRS expects every paid tax preparer to have one
  • Reliable remote access for staff working from home or at a client site
  • Tested restores, so a ransomware day costs hours instead of a filing season

The security rules your office is already under

Paid tax preparers fall under the FTC Safeguards Rule through the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and IRS Publication 4557 expects every paid preparer to keep a written information security plan. We are not your compliance auditor and we do not certify your firm. What we do is put the technical safeguards those rules expect into place — multi-factor authentication, encryption, access limited to the people whose role requires it, patching, monitored backups and documentation — and give you the records your written plan refers to.

QuickBooks and ProSeries on a network that holds up

We are not your accounting software vendor and we do not do your bookkeeping. What we take responsibility for is everything underneath: the Windows server your company file sits on, the permissions and file locking that multi-user QuickBooks depends on, the workstations ProSeries runs on, the backups protecting both, and the network that takes all of it down when a switch or access point is failing. Most of the slow QuickBooks and lost connection calls we see turn out to be a network, permission or hardware problem rather than a software one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions accounting and tax offices ask us most. Still unsure? A senior engineer will walk you through it.

Yes. We support an accounting, bookkeeping and tax office as an active client, along with dental, medical, construction and other professional offices across the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles.

We support the systems they run on. That means the Windows server holding your company file, the permissions and file locking that multi-user QuickBooks depends on, the workstations ProSeries runs on, and the backups behind both. We are not your accounting software vendor, so licensing and in-program questions still go to Intuit or your reseller.

Only when something is urgent. Planned work such as server replacements, migrations and major updates is scheduled outside your busiest weeks and agreed with you in advance. During the season we watch backups, disk space and capacity more closely rather than less.

We are not a compliance auditor and we do not certify your firm. We put the technical safeguards those rules expect into place — multi-factor authentication, encryption, access control, patching, monitored backups and documentation — and we give you the records your written information security plan refers to. The plan itself stays yours, with your own named security lead.

Our managed IT plans start from $95 per computer per month, and project work is quoted in writing after a free assessment. Published rates from other Los Angeles providers run roughly $100 to $300 per user per month. Plans are month to month, with 30 days notice to cancel.
