Backup and Disaster Recovery for Small Businesses

A backup is only useful if it restores. We build backup systems you can count on and test them so recovery takes hours, not weeks.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

What is the 3-2-1 backup rule?

The 3-2-1 rule means keeping three copies of your data, on two different types of storage, with one copy off-site. For example: the original on your server, a second copy on a Synology NAS in your office and a third copy in the cloud.

How do we protect your data?

  • Automated backups of computers and servers with AOMEI Backupper
  • On-site backup storage on Synology NAS
  • Off-site and cloud copies protected from ransomware
  • Guidance on a dedicated Microsoft 365 backup for email, OneDrive and SharePoint (recommended add-on)
  • Weekly backup checks and regular test restores
  • Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) for servers and network equipment
  • A written recovery plan: what gets restored first and how long it takes

How do I know my backups actually work?

We check backup jobs every week and perform test restores of real files and systems. You receive a short report so you know your data can be recovered, not just that a job ran.

Does Microsoft 365 back up my data automatically?

No. Microsoft keeps the service running but does not provide full backups of your mailboxes and files. Deleted or encrypted data can be lost after the retention period, so a separate Microsoft 365 backup is recommended.

Find out if your backups would really restore.

We will review your current backups for free and show you what would happen if a computer, server or office were lost today.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most. Still unsure? A senior engineer will walk you through it.

It depends on data size, but with local NAS backups most offices can restore critical files within hours.

Yes. A NAS in the same office can be lost to fire, theft or ransomware along with your computers. An off-site copy protects you from all three.
